Set up your first rate card

Choose the right industry, specialism and hiring type, then test your pricing.

Choose the right category

Open your recruiter workspace and select Rate cards. Create a card for the industry, specialism, state and hiring type you actually service. The specialism must belong to the selected industry. Use separate cards when those combinations have different pricing.

Enter your own cost assumptions

Enter percentage values as percentages: 12 means 12%, not 0.12. Check your super, workers compensation, payroll tax and administration inputs with the person responsible for your payroll. TalentChoice does not determine your legal obligations or automatically keep those inputs current. The agency margin field in the existing calculator is a markup on calculated costs, not a target gross-margin percentage.

Add dates and visibility

Set a valid-from date and an expiry date. Save the card. The Active, Include in employer search and Visible to employers switches must be on for a current card to qualify for comparison. Your active industry allowance also affects eligibility. Expired cards or cards without an expiry date do not appear as current public pricing.

Test before you publish

Use Edit & test on a saved card to try a sample pay rate or annual salary and open the printable preview. Check the final amount against your own quote. Employers see the final charge, not your internal cost inputs. You can also use the free account calculator without changing a saved card.
