Meet Scott
Kaya — Australian-Based Talent Placement Kaya workforce solution is an Australian recruitment and placement agency with an established presence in the Philippines. We connect Australian and international businesses with verified Filipino professionals — combining local accountability with genuine on-the-ground access to talent others can’t reach. Unlike most recruitment agencies, we’re a placement company. We own the entire hire, from sourcing and vetting through to post-placement support. CEO — Scott Finlayson Scott’s connection to the Philippines is personal — family ties and years of business relationships built on the ground there. He didn’t discover Filipino talent from a distance. He built Kaya from the inside out.
Specialisms & experience
Our screening process
Kaya works with a POEA (Philippine Overseas Employment Administration) registered agency — the government body that legally authorises the sourcing and deployment of Filipino workers abroad. Not every agency can do this. We can. Every candidate is screened against both Philippine government requirements and Australian immigration standards: — Credential and qualification verification — Police clearance and POEA-mandated documentation — Skills assessment through the relevant Australian assessing authority — Visa eligibility confirmation with the Department of Home Affairs — Health assessments where required — English language proficiency (IELTS or equivalent) — Structured video interviews and skills matching — Cultural preparation for the Australian workplace By the time a candidate reaches you, they’ve been cleared on both sides of the process.
Our capabilities
Kaya specialises in placing candidates across Australia’s skilled migration shortage lists — connecting employers with qualified professionals in roles that are genuinely hard to fill locally. Whether you’re navigating workforce gaps in engineering, healthcare, construction, IT, or trade occupations, we have the networks to source candidates who meet both your requirements and visa eligibility criteria. We place across two streams: Domestic Placements — Australian-based candidates ready to move into your team quickly, with no visa complexity and full compliance from day one. Overseas Placements — Internationally sourced professionals, with a strong focus on Filipino talent, guided through the full placement process including skills assessment support and migration pathway guidance. Beyond placement, we work closely with employers to understand workforce planning needs, advise on role eligibility under skilled shortage frameworks, and ensure every hire is set up for long-term success — not just a short-term fix. If a role is hard to fill, that’s exactly where Kaya works best.
Our approach
We start by listening. Before we source a single candidate, we take the time to understand your business — the role, the team, and the kind of person who will genuinely thrive in your environment. That means fewer irrelevant CVs and faster, better hires. From there, our Philippine-based network does the work. We identify, screen, and assess candidates against your specific requirements — skills, experience, and cultural fit. You only meet people who are ready. Once a placement is made, we don’t disappear. We stay in contact with both you and the candidate to make sure the hire lands well and lasts. That’s what being a placement company means to us — we’re accountable for the outcome, not just the introduction. Every client relationship at Kaya is built on three things: honesty about what we can deliver, transparency throughout the process, and a genuine commitment to getting it right.
